After more than 15 years’ experience in legal representation, 10 of which as a director at a renowned law firm in Pretoria, Andries Stander established Stander Attorneys.
Andries believes in following a strategic, practical and commercial approach to resolving disputes. Despite having successfully represented clients in the Electoral Court, Equality Court, Supreme Court of Appeal and Constitutional Court, he often advises clients to first endeavour to resolve their disputes through the various available alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
Being well versed in Corporate and Commercial Litigation, Family Law (Divorce, Maintenance and Domestic Violence), Construction Law, Personal Injury Claims and Criminal Law he understands the interplay between different legal fields and utilise this to the advantage of clients.
In the past Andries have had the privilege of assisting a broad range of commercial clients, including commercial property owners, investors, owner-managed engineering and manufacturing enterprises, international engineering companies and major banking institutions.
Private clients have trusted him as their attorney in divorces, parental responsibility and rights disputes, domestic violence disputes, immigration disputes, personal injury claims and criminal defences.

In the arena of law, where battles are fought with wit and strategy, one requires the tenacity of a litigator and the finesse of a mediator. I believe that my journey from courtroom clashes to mediation is a testament to my grit, determination, and experience gained.
Growing up in a close-knit family, I understand the value of compassion and determination as well as the importance of resilience and perseverance. My parents instilled in me a sense of responsibility and the importance of forging strong bonds—a lesson that continues to shape my approach to life and work.
My path, however, wasn't always destined for the legal arena. As a child, I dreamed of exploring the mysteries of the ocean as a marine biologist. Fate, however, had a different plan, nudging me towards a career in law. While I initially set foot in the legal arena with aspirations of courtroom glory, I have since also discovered my strength in the art of finding common ground between disputing parties. I thrive on using my restorative, analytical, and deliberative skills to identify and solve problems, with my focus squarely on practical solutions rather than sentimental gestures.
My understanding of legal intricacies and eye for detail, enables me to tackle each case with precision and determination. Instead of seeking mere victory, I seek a resolution that serves the interests of my clients.
Outside the law, I have diverse interests and passions, including spending time with my family and indulging in my love for nature and photography.
