Our Fees
I have spent enough time in practice to know that clients mostly consider paying legal fees as a grudge purchase. Clients often employ lawyers as a last resort and because they feel that they have no choice in the matter anymore. What is worse, the outcome strived for is often delayed due to various external factors over which the client does not have any control. Unfortunately, I also do not have control over many of these factors. The ones I do have control over though, I will strive my best to manage.

My fees are in general based on time spent on your matter at an hourly tariff you and I will agree on. If it makes commercial sense for both of us, we can also negotiate a retainer agreement for a fixed monthly fee.

Follow the below tips to reduce your legal bill:

Give detailed instructions - the more detail, the easier to consider the legal position;

Give instructions timeously - If you give me time to prepare for the consultation, you will get more out of the consultation and the matter can progress quicker and while the facts are still fresh in my mind - the longer I wait for instructions, the more I must refresh my mind about the nitty gritty of your matter.

Prepare for your consultation or telephone conversation with me so that follow-ups are limited.

If you send me an e-mail or WhatsApp - try to include as many of your questions as possible - not only does it reduce the correspondence between us (and reduce your bill), it also reduce the risk of misunderstandings.

If possible, provide me with a chronology of the main events when you send me documentation on which to consult. It shortens my own preparation and reduce your legal costs.
